Fortnum and Mason Wedding Photographer – Alice and Gianfranco

According to the weather forecast, this Saturday was meant to produce the biggest hailstorm in 150 years and lots of rain. None of this happened, it was an incredibly beautiful day for Alice and Gianfranco in London.
The day started at Gianfranco’s parent’s house for the “aperitivo” before I went to Alice and Gianfranco’s flat to capture a few images of Alice getting ready before jumping on a London Cab to St’ Dominic’s priory, where the ceremony and Mass took place. A lovely and friendly priest waited for us and the service was simple yet beautiful. Only a few close friends and family members were invited to the day. It was a shame that Gianfranco’s dad could not make it on the day, being in Italy unwell, however thanks to modern technology, he was able to watch the wedding ceremony and speeches via Skype and I tried deliberately to capture a few frames to include him on the day images.
Drinks took place in the garden’s of St. Dominic’s priory before taking an Old Route Master to Fortnum and Mason’s where the reception took place in afternoon tea style. It was a lovely afternoon that included fun and games (the shoe game a version of Mr and Mrs) and everybody had fun and the food was just delicious! There were a few speeches at the end, before I left. Gianfranco, Alice and their guests were then carrying on to a club for a few drinks.
Gianfranco and Alice were incredibly relaxed on the day, very friendly and attentive and ensuring that I had plenty to drink and eat (which I did thanks to the lovely staff at Fortnum and Mason’s). It was lovely to see how much their friends and family cared for them and how everyone was there for them – the mood on the day was of pure joy and very calm!
