A winter wedding at Wasing Park
Wasing Park is a wonderful venue, whether it is in summer or in winter. In winter, it takes a nice and warm feel which makes you feel at home. The wedding of Michelle and Richard took place at the end of Winter. It was a lovely day with no rain and not too cold either. Wasing Park offers the ability for couples to have the whole day at the same venue. The couple opted for a civil ceremony in the garden room.
Getting ready and wedding ceremony
I always like to arrive early to catch a few getting ready photos of the bride. If the groom is nearby, it is also often nice to get a few shots of the boys getting ready too. At Wasing Park, there are areas where both bride and groom can get ready separately. I like the moments before the ceremony where some real emotions come through. Sometimes it may be nerves, laughter, tears, joy or a combination of all of these! The ceremony was short yet lovely and then the guests and couple had some time for drinks and nibbles in the garden room.
Drinks reception and the evening festivities
One of my favourite times is the drinks reception where I can do some documentary work and capture friends and family having a good time together. This is the time also when I take some time to capture a few photos of the wedding breakfast room, do a few family photos if requested and a few portraits. After the drinks, the guests made their way to the barn for a gorgeous meal followed by speeches. Speeches are a nice time too, where I get to know a little bit more about the bride and groom and it is great to see people’s reactions!
After this, it was time for the cutting of the cake back in the garden room, before the couple headed back to the Barn for their first dance.
It was a lovely winter wedding at Wasing Park, a lovely wedding celebration! Michelle and Richard were very friendly and great to work with on their wedding day! Below are some of my favourite images from their wedding day, I hope that you like them!
