Engagement Photos in Windsor
I met Sophie and Joel on a gorgeous Sunday morning in April in Windsor. It had been raining the previous days and we were thinking of postponing the shoot. I love working in Windsor as it presents a variety of locations to use from the river and the bridge, the Castle of course and the cobblestone streets nearby. It also offers some nice locations by the arches with a more “gritty” environment.
We arranged to get there early to avoid the crowds even though there were still a few people around as we entered the shooping area in Windsor (see below). That image is one of my favorites, I like the impression of having two people entering an ocean of people (tourists).
I am always in two minds when offering and shooting engagement shoots. As a reportage wedding photographer I do very little posing during the wedding day (only for groups and a short portrait session where there is virtually no posing) and an engagement shoot often requires more posing as there is not as much context and interaction with guests as it will happen on the big day. I am however very comfortable doing portraits as this is mainly how I started in photography and I ensure that I keep the shoot short, casual and relaxed.
It was lovely meeting Sophie and Joel. We went for a coffee after the shoot and it was a good opportunity to show them album samples and discuss more about their wedding day. I look forward to capturing the wedding day next year at Bury Court Barn. Please get in touch if you are looking for engagement photos in Windsor
