Every wedding is different… Sometimes, even if the location is the same, the people involved are different, their stories varied and elements like the weather may make for a totally new experience. As a wedding photographer, those are the small joys that I look forward, the unknown factors, the stories surrounding how the couple met, adventures shared by the families etc…
Keiron and Isil’s day had a few elements of their own. Their day was a joyous occasion for two families and cultures to get together, Isil’s origins being from Turkey. The day was filled with joy as you would expect and despite the rain which prevented us going outside for some casual portraits, the mood of the newly wed couple was upbeat.
In fact, we made the most of the interior of Strawberry Hill House, by doing a short portrait session in the many spectacular rooms of the house. We still tried to keep the posing relaxed and natural.
Strawberry Hill House is a relatively new venue for weddings. A Georgian Gothic house created by Horace Warpole in the 18th Century, it is currently undertaken a £9 million repair supported by the National Lottery funding. Parts of the House are still being renovated. The staff were very helpful and incredibly quick at turning around the Gallery, which served as both the ceremony room and wedding breakfast room. The only slight downside is that some rooms are still a bit empty (such as the library were the drinks reception took place) and some details need refining, such as the lighting in the Gallery. However, an excellent location for a wedding that I would certainly recommend.
Below are some of my favorite images of the day. I hope that you like them and I welcome any comments. If you are looking for a Strawberry Hill House wedding photographer, I would love to hear from you.
