Bury Court Barn Weddings – Sophie and Joel
The wedding of Sophie and Joel was always going to be beautiful…. and it was! The weather came out to play in this early May Saturday at Bury Court Barn, one of my favorite venues to work at in Surrey. In my experience, Bury Court Barn weddings are lovely: the picturesque building and gardens in addition to the spacious rooms, make it for a gorgeous wedding venue.
Sophie was incredibly relaxed when I arrived as she and her bridesmaids had their hair and make up done at the venue. The pace of the day was joyful and relaxed and as the groom and his family arrived it was time for a leisurely drink before the ceremony. Sophie looked radiant and Joel looked incredibly smart as they exchanged their vows. A few (may be more) drinks ensued after the ceremony to the sound of the harp with guests mingling and basking in the sunshine.
I took the opportunity to do 2 very short portrait sessions with Sophie and Joel during the day (10 minutes each max) to take advantage of the changing light and the variety of settings that Bury Court has to offer. I had met Joel and Sophie about a year ago for their engagement / pre-wedding shoot in Windsor (check it out here) and I knew what they liked and what they were comfortable with.
The day progressed with some heartfelt speeches after the wedding breakfast, cutting the cake and some dancing before I left them to enjoy the evening. I always enjoy Burycourt barn weddings as the staff make me feel very welcome and their service is impeccable.
