Royal Institute of British Architects Wedding Photographer
It was a great opportunity to be a Royal Institute of British Architects Wedding Photographer for C and D’s wedding. A lovely couple, down to earth in a gorgeous setting in London. I had met C and D a few months before their wedding day to discuss details for their special day and to get to know each other a little bit.
My coverage started at the venue. It was a beautiful sunny day which allowed lovely light to filter through the ceremony room and the roof terrace where the drinks reception took place. The ceremony was short yet beautiful with C and D having written their own vows, something that I find makes the ceremony more personal. The guests enjoyed some time outdoors on the terrace afterwards, enjoying some lovely Italian antipasti and drinks. There was also the added surprise on the day of D arranging a surprise visit from their lovely furry friend (pic below)
Contrary to tradition, the speeches took place before dinner and with everyone standing up. I personally quite like that! Having speeches before the meal, means that the speakers can relax and enjoy their meal. I quite like the standing up approach, it made it for a more informal feel.
After the meal we took a few minutes for a few portrait shots before going back in the room for the first dance. The whole day had an elegant yet relaxed feel. I enjoyed the company of both the bride and groom, their guests and family. I was very well looked after and it was a great wedding to document.
Below are some of my favourite images of the day. I hope that you like them!
