Holland Park wedding photographer
I document a fair amount of weddings each year, the majority are full days. Sometimes, I will document shorter mid-week weddings. I do not tend to document parties, unless it for wedding couples or past clients. Abi and Ed are getting married next year and they asked me if I would document their pre-wedding party at the Orangerie at Holland Park. This was taking place on a Saturday at the end of September. As I was free on that date (it would have been my first Saturday free since summer) I was excited to document their pre-wedding party. It was at a lovely venue, very local to them. The dress code was black tie and everyone looked very elegant. I only stayed for a couple of hours, just take a few portraits of the engaged couple and then some atmospheric shots of the evening.
Champagne and Canapés
Guest started arriving and it was a early autumn evening. Ir it felt that way. It was a bit dark with a few spots of rain but the venue looked lovely and welcoming. Guests were treated to champagne and canapés and there was a three piece band playing music in the background. The light was challenging as it was fairly dark with purple uplighters. I like to work without flash as much as possible (unless it is for creative portraits or capturing the dancing). I feel that this way I can capture the real mood and make it look as it was in the evening itself.
It was a real pleasure to meet Abi and Ed and I am already looking forward to their wedding next year. Below is a little selection on how I saw the evening, I hope that you like it! If you are looking for a Holland park wedding photographer, or any other venue for that matter, I would love to hear from you!
