Wedding Photography at Sanctum on the Green

Sanctum on the Green is a lovely venue based just outside the picturesque village of Cookham in Berkshire.  It is a venue at which I had worked before and that Clare and Tristan chose for their special wedding day. It is a local venue to them, with great food and in a lovely setting. The weather turned out to be fantastic on this late September Saturday and I was pleased for Clare and Tristan. I had met them a few months before to discuss their wedding plans. A lovely, down to earth couple that just wanted to celebrate with family and friends. No posed images apart from  a few portraits, that suited me well!

It was nice to start the day at Clare’s parents house and meet everyone as they are getting ready before heading out to the wedding venue. The bridal preparations are an opportunity to take some nice shots but also a time to get to know a bit more the bride and her family and friends. The service was held outside and the nice sunshine made all the difference. Everyone was happy and relaxed at the venue when I arrived. The ceremony was short with a few readings and then it was nice to see guests mingling and having a lovely time. The meal and speeches took place in the marquee before heading to the main venue for the dancing and evening party.

I really enjoyed documenting this wedding as everyone was friendly and relaxed which allowed me to move around, observe and capture some nice natural and fleeting moments. Clare and Tristan were great to be with on the day, fun and relaxed!
