Pre-wedding photography in Windsor – Vicki and Paul
I had met Paul and Vicki on a couple of opportunities when they were looking for their wedding photographer. I was very glad that they decided to choose me to capture their wedding day as they are a lovely couple and had a great time chatting to them. As part of their wedding collection, they opted for a pre-wedding shoot that took place in Windsor. Both Paul and Vicki like good photographs, but they do not like posing.
The format of this pre-wedding shoot was a simple walk in Windsor. When I found a spot that I liked, we would then stop for a bit, have a chat and I would take a few shots of them. I would “lightly pose” them – just enough to capture the nice light or the background but for the rest it was as natural as portrait session can be. Towards the end Paul and Vicki were more relaxed and we tried a few different things but again making sure that there were no “silly poses” or something that would feel unnatural.
Below is a selection of the images from this afternoon in November in Windsor, Berkshire. These images were also used for a signing book and some decorations on the wedding day. I personally feel that a pre-wedding or engagement shoot is not a must have before the wedding day but it is certainly a nice way of spending a couple of hours creating images for the future. If you are considering to have your pre-wedding photography in Windsor, I can certainly recommend this location as it provides a variety of backdrops. The river and bridge are a nice area to use as is the castle and the cobble streets. The area around the train station also offers a nice “gritty background” for a different feel for your shots.
