Sanctum on the Green Weddings in Cookham – Berkshire

The Sanctum on the Green is a lovely countryside pub and wedding venue based in the Heart of Berkshire, not too far from Maidenhead. This was the venue chosen by Abi and James to celebrate their wedding at. Sanctum on the green weddings are fun and relaxed, based on my two previous visits. The venue is known for their lovely food and a relaxed atmosphere.

I started the day documenting the getting ready preparations of the bride before heading off to the church for the ceremony. It was a nice sunny day and everyone was in great spirits. The ceremony was beautiful and meaningful. It was great that the family dog was also allowed to take part in it. After the ceremony, a surprise dove release had been planned by the father of the groom. Followed confetti before everyone headed for the venue, a mere 30 minutes away.

A relaxed afternoon by the pool

The wedding guests were offered some gorgeous canapés and drinks on arrival. The drinks reception took place around the pool. As it was such a hot and lovely day, some guests used the pool to dip in their toes. During the drinks reception we took a short time out to do a few portraits around the venue. We then head back for the three course meal and wedding speeches. It is lovely to see how different people approach this part of the day. Some families have their own traditions. In this instances, Abi was welcomed in the family with her own personalised number plate. It was great to see her reaction! It was also fun to see the reactions to the best men speeches, who did a good job at providing some fin anecdotes of the groom.
