Wedding Photographer Magdalen College – Oxford – Beulah and Luke
Oh. My. Goodness. These are more incredible than I could ever have imagined!! You have done the most wonderful wonderful job!! I can’t believe it and I can’t stop smiling!! Thank you!!! Aahhhh!! I’m soooo happy! – Beulah (the bride)
I consider myself lucky. Lucky to meet lovely people and photograph important events in people lives. Lucky to have lovely and caring couples who commission me to document their wedding day!! From the original e-mails, I knew that I would get on very well with Beulah and Luke and this is exactly what happened on the wedding day. They planned a lovely and elegant wedding yet relaxed and fun and I think that they really achieved it!
My day started at the Old Bank Hotel for bridal preparations before walking to the church in busy Oxford. Beulah and her bridal party where escorted by a few members of the guard of honour. It was beautiful to see people looking and moving aside to let Beulah walk to Magdalen College. The chapel is incredibly beautiful. It was a bit of a shame that I could only photograph from very far back (and high) and had to almost fight with the verger to get the last shots at the end of the service despite the priest agreeing for me to capture those last moments from below. Every church has different rules. Nevertheless, I was still able to capture some nice images and it was beautiful to see Beulah and Luke exiting the chapel through a guard of honour – another of many WOW moments of the day. We then went for the drinks reception in the gardens of the college, before walking through a park in Oxford and reaching the Town Hall, the venue for the wedding breakfast and evening party.
Speeches took place before the meal, which I often think is a good idea – it let’s the speakers relax and have a drink or two! During the day, we took a few minutes at different moments to get a few portraits and it was really easy with Beulah and Luke, there was no need for direction, they were just so happy to be with each other that I was getting lovely image after lovely image.
After the meal came the dancing which was really fun and I stayed to cover some of the late dancing and late drinking too! It was really a pleasure to document this lovely wedding, a couple clearly in love! I really hope that you like the images below and please feel free to leave me a comment below.
