Ardington House Wedding Photography – Laura-Jane and Martin
Ardington House wedding photography can be extremely beautiful, especially when the sunshine is out, as it was for Laura-Jane and Martin’s wedding day. I remember each couple who commissions me, often for different reasons. I will always remember when LJ and Martin came to visit me around 15 months ago. I had my baby boy with me who was less than a year old and fell sleep in my arms as we were chatting.
It was so great to see them again for their wedding day at such a beautiful venue, everyone looking great and with beautiful weather. They all got ready at the venue before heading to the church which is literally next door. The morning preparations were busy with the excitement and emotions rising as we got closer to the time of the ceremony. I really enjoy observing (and capturing) these moments. I pay attention to the mood as well as noticing the efforts done with decorations and for example the bridesmaids dresses and crowns that were truly beautiful.
After the ceremony, everybody walked back to Ardington House for drinks and canapés. It was a lovely afternoon and it was followed by speeches before the meal. The mother of the bride’s speech was genuinely touching and beautiful, probably one of the best I have heard in a long time. Very well delivered but more importantly very well thought out, personal and emotional but not over the top either. One of my favourite frames must be of LJ and her mum holding hands briefly during that speech. After speeches, came the meal and then time for a few portraits before the first dance. Whilst many weddings follow a similar format, every wedding is different for me, I like getting to know the couples and their guests and get a good sense for who they are. LJ and Martin were lovely to me and to their guests, it was obvious to see the love and affection they had for each other and for their close family and friends.
