Weddings at the HAC

Weddings at the HAC

Wedding at the HAC are lovely. The HAC or Honourable Artillery Company is a beautiful and historic backdrop to a wedding. I had the opportunity to document a wedding there on a previous occasion and I was looking forward to Emma and Michael’s wedding. It was one of my first autumn weddings for this year. I could already feel a change in the weather, becoming cooler and windier. The HAC is a great location for an autumn/winter wedding as it has lots of different rooms that can be used.  Even though the weather was dry on this occasion, most of the day was spent indoors. I had chatted with Emma and Michael before the wedding. They were very relaxed and they were looking for mainly documentary images of their wedding day. I started my coverage just before the ceremony.

Michael and his ushers were tending to the final preparations and were welcoming the guests as they arrived. There was great energy and a lovely mood all around. The main room at the HAC is magnificent and a great place for the wedding ceremony. The venue was meaningful to them, Michael having been based there during his career. The ceremony was lovely and it included two readings. After the ceremony, the guests made their way outside for a confetti shower. It was followed by a few family photos before heading back inside for drinks and canapés.

A relaxed evening at the Honourable Artillery Company

The drinks reception took place in the two downstairs rooms of the venue. A string quartet played during this time, filling the air with lovely music. It was beautiful and it added to the magic of the venue. After the drinks reception, the guests went upstairs for the wedding breakfast. The room had been turned around and it looked incredible. The bride and groom and their guests enjoyed a lovely meal and it was then followed by speeches. After the speeches, it was then time for the first dance and I left shortly after that.

I really enjoyed working with Emma and Michael, a lovely couple who were very relaxed and friendly. Below is a selection of my favourite images from their wedding day, I really hope that you like them! If you are looking for weddings at the HAC, I can certainly recommend the venue. It is very well managed and is very elegant.

Below is a slideshow and then some images below. Please check the slideshow first as it includes more images.
