Islington Town Hall and Royal Exchange wedding

I was looking forward to take part at the Islington Town Hall and Royal Exchange wedding of Ekaterina and Jose. It is funny how things happen in life. I had received the original enquiry form Ekaterina. We agreed to have a chat on the phone. During the conversation we found that both Jose and I are from Peru, a strange coincidence! It was great for me to document a wedding with some fellow Peruvians! Even though I left Peru as a child, I still have fond memories of my country. In particular the food. I still miss flavours and smells from the food of my childhood!

Anyway, back to the wedding! .It was a midweek wedding and the bride and groom only required short coverage. I am generally happy to offer short coverage during the week and it was a fun wedding to be part of. I met Ekaterina and Jose at their flat by Arsenal Stadium. As I arrived a bit early, I popped into the store and bought memorabilia t-shirts for my 2 boys. My oldest one is crazy about football! We walked from their flat to the Islington Town Hall. It was a nice walk and we took a few portraits on the way too. As we arrived at the Town Hall, most of the guests were waiting for them. It was a fairly small and intimate wedding. Ekaterina had her mum with her while Jose had his brother and cousins with him on the day.

A route master ride and the Royal Exchange

The ceremony was brief but beautiful and it was great to see how happy the bride and groom were after the ceremony! We had the traditional confetti shot on the way out and shortly after we left on a Route Master for a ride across London. We stopped at Big Ben for a few photos before proceeding to the Royal Exchange where a meal was planned for the bride and groom and their guests. It was a really good day, slightly different in format but that is what makes wedding interesting! I do not believe in one standard format but I rather enjoy how people are creative with their wedding plans.
