I was very excited to meet Faye and Anthony. It was my first time as a Fitzrovia Chapel wedding photographer, a relatively new venue for civil weddings. Faye and Anthony contacted me fairly late for their wedding, with only a few weeks to go. They were originally not going to have a photographer but I am glad that they changed their mind. I really enjoyed capturing their wedding. It was a fairly small affair with mainly family at the wedding. As it was a fairly late booking and they only wanted 3 hours coverage, I was happy to work on that basis. Short coverage is always difficult, as I feel that I need to capture meaningful images in a very short time but I am pleased with the results here.
I started the day documenting the groom arriving at Percy & Founders for a drink with family and friends. It is located literally next door to Fitzrovia Chapel which makes it really handy. Everyone was having food and we swiftly moved on to the venue itself for the civil ceremony. The ceremony was in itself short and sweet. It was lovely seeing the bride and groom’s son walking down the aisle with his cousins. The bride then followed with dad.
After the ceremony, the bride and groom hosted a drinks reception at the Chapel itself before moving onto another location for their evening meal.
A wedding reception at the Ritz
I rode with the bride and groom in a black cab to the Ritz for their evening reception. The Ritz is a historical and gorgeous venue in London and ideal for the wedding that the bride and groom had planned. It was a a beautifully decorated room that showed the class of the Ritz.
It was a real pleasure for me to document the wedding of Faye and Anthony, a lovely and caring couple. It was a very short coverage for me but I was still able to make a good connection with them and their family.
