It was a great day for the wedding of J & M. I was delighted to travel to Somerset to be the Smedmore House wedding photographer for this special day. The bride and groom were having their wedding ceremony at Corfe Castle, a beautiful and picturesque town near Smedmore house. My day started at the wedding venue taking a few pictures of the wedding preparations. Everything was going well and to time. The venue is very elegant and it is a great place to get ready at. After a shot while, I drove to Corfe Castle, to catch a few moments with guests arriving and everyone waiting for the bride to arrive. I loved the ambiance outside the church. Passers by, locals and tourist were watching with interest as the bridal car arrived. The bride and dad looked royal as they walked into the impressive St. Edwards church. The priest was very friendly and the ceremony was beautiful and relaxed. After they were officially husband and wife, the couple exited the church to some confetti before heading back to the venue.

A wedding reception at Smedmore House

The wedding reception took place in the gardens by the marquee back at the venue. The weather was a little bit variable, mainly windy, so some guests took shelter in the marquee too. The venue is beautiful with the lovely house, the gardens and you can even see the sea in the distance. The guests enjoyed canapés and drinks while they all took in turns to congratulate the bride and groom. We also had a few minutes to take a few portraits before it was time for speeches. Many couples opt these days for wedding speeches before the wedding breakfast. I personally like this as everyone is then relaxed and can enjoy their meal.  The speeches were lovely and not too long, which is ideal for the guests as I would guess they were ready for their meal at this point. After the meal, it was time for the first dance and I stayed a few more minutes after that to capture a few dancing shots before heading home.

Below are some of my favourite images from their wedding day. As usual, my gal is to provide a few images that give a feel of what the day looked and felt like. It was a real pleasure to work with J & M, a very easy and relaxed couple to get on with. I really hope that you enjoy the images below. If you are a looking for a Smedmore House wedding photographer (or any other venue for that matter), I would love to hear from you. Thanks so much for visiting my website and I hope that you enjoy what you see!
