The Empire Hall Leicester wedding photographer – Mellissa and Ravi
It was great to be the Empire Hall Leicester wedding photographer for Mellissa and Ravi’s Sikh wedding. Mellissa and Ravi had also had a civil wedding in Lincoln a couple of weeks ago that was captured by one of my colleagues on my behalf. It was a great day that started fairly early at their home where Mellissa was having her hair and make up done. The mood was very relaxed and joyful which made for a pleasant morning and for some lovely images. We then headed to the Gurdwara to arrive before the groom. It is great when two families from different cultures get together. Mellissa’s family were very interested and curious about the ceremony. The families met each other in front of the Gurdwara before heading inside to have breakfast together.
The ceremony was lovely and shortly after the end of it, we headed for some portraits nearby before going to The Empire Hall, which is a converted church that now hosts weddings and events. It is a gorgeous building and ideal for large weddings. The newly married couple made their entrance to the sound of Dohl players, which is one of my favourite parts of any Asian wedding, I just love the sound and excitement that Dohl players create. It was then time for the first dance and then time to eat and dance some more after that, including a dance-off between both families at the end which was very fun!
I really had a great time documenting Mellissa and Ravi’s wedding day! They are a beautiful couple and clearly in love. Below are some of my favourite images from their wedding day. I hope that you like them and please feel free to leave me a comment below, it is always great to hear your thoughts.
