Thames Boat wedding reception photography
I was contacted by Y & K asking me to document a small wedding reception on the Thames. It sounded like great fun. They got married recently and they were having a reception for their nearest and dearest. It was a gorgeous summery day in London. I met them and their guests at the Savoy Pier. We embarked on to the Silver Barracuda and we went up and down the Thames for 2-3 hours. It was a very relaxed affair. The bride and groom greeted their guests and then all gathered in the upped deck for a short welcome speech from the groom. Everyone seemed to enjoy the experience of being on the boat and seeing many London tourist attractions! It was fairly surreal seeing some stunning landmarks during the speeches and during the trip.
A sunny day on the Thames
After the drinks reception, guests were invited to the lower deck for a lovely meal. it was a fairly intimate reception with around 40 guests and it was great to see everyone getting along. After the reception, it was time for the guests to head back up again for more drinks before docking again at the Savoy Pier. I left the bride and groom at their guests shortly after. They continued their afternoon celebrations in a local pub.
It was great to be there to capture a few frames of Y & K’s wedding reception. It was really fun to meet them and I enjoyed the experience on the boat too! If you getting married in a boat and looking for Thames boat wedding reception photography, I would love to hear from you.
