Destination wedding photographer in Turkey | Med Inn Hotel | Maria and Adam

Life is full of surprises and unexpected moments. At the beginning of the year, I was in New York attending a photography workshop by Magnum photographer Alex Webb. It was a workshop about street photography and I received a short critique on my portfolio. He recommended that I went back to Istanbul as he felt that it was there were I had done my best work so far.  I was wondering how to return to Istanbul as I already had a lot of commitments and personal trips arranged. This is when I received the e-mail from Maria, enquiring about my availability for her wedding at the Med In  Hotel near Bodrum. I loved the sound of the enquiry and I was so glad when a few days later she confirmed the booking. I was looking forward to being a Destination wedding photographer in Turkey for her and Adam’s wedding. I was also excited to go after the wedding day to Istanbul for some personal work.

The Med Inn Hotel is a lovely luxury boutique Hotel based in Gulluck, near Bodrum, only 20 minutes away from the airport. Maria and Adam were looking for a very relaxed affair. They wanted to share this spot that they found a few years prior, with their friends and family and they wanted everyone to enjoy themselves. Most guests arrived a day or two in advanced and they enjoyed the resort. I arrived earlier too and I was able to meet everyone and enjoy too the lovely location. The day before the wedding we also did a short pre-wedding shoot.

On the wedding day itself, given the heat, proceedings started mid afternoon with a ceremony scheduled at around 4:30 PM. The ceremony got delayed by an hour as the registrar was stuck in traffic, but this did not affect the mood at all. Maria and Adam were so relaxed throughout the wedding day and that also relaxed everyone around them. The ceremony in itself was very short and it was followed by drinks and canapés at sunset which created some magical light. Followed a gorgeous meal and some dancing into late in the night.

Maria and Adam were really great to be with, friendly, caring and looking after everyone. They really wanted to have a very relaxed wedding and I would say that they succeeded in all fronts. Below is a short slideshow of some of my favourite images, I hope that you like it. Please feel free to leave me a comment below, I would love to hear from you. If you are looking for a destination wedding photographer in Turkey (or any other location for that matter), I would love to hear from you. Have a lovely day and thank you for reading!
