The Forbury Hotel Wedding Photographer
I love winter weddings and I was very fortunate to be the Forbury Hotel wedding photographer on this occasion to capture the wedding of Jessica and John. The Forbury Hotel is a lovely venue, very local to me, which was great as I often work all over the country and it was nice to be so local for this event. I had so many things in common with the bride and groom, not least the fact that both Jessica and I are both from Peru, that I was really looking forward to document their wedding day.
The Forbury Hotel – a 5 Star boutique Hotel in Reading
The Forbury Hotel is a gorgeous venue based in the centre of Reading. The staff is great and there are many rooms available for a wedding reception. Jessica and John had a great choice of rooms for their wedding and wedding photographs. The Hotel boasts also a lovely cinema that we used for a couple of portraits. The day started with me capturing some images of the guests arriving for the ceremony and then capturing some shots of Jessica and her bridesmaid arriving in style at the venue. Sadly, Jessica’s family could not be present at the wedding (but another wedding will take place in Lima later in the year) and therefore John’s dad did the honours of walking Jessica down the aisle. It was a lovely ceremony, simple with some beautiful music. As a wedding photographer, I have seen a variety of ceremonies. It is nice to have a relaxed ceremony focused on the vows to each other, the most important part of the day in my opinion.

Relaxed wedding photography is about capturing the day as it happens, focusing on capturing important and emotional moments rather than staging images. Of course, I am happy to take a few portraits of the bride and groom and a few family shots. However, the most important moments for me are those that show the love between the couple, their families and friends. The laughter and the fun that took place on their wedding day. I am fortunate that couples, and in this instance, Jessica and John value this as it allows me to work to my style and provide images that will resonate with couples. Jessica and John were great to work with. Both were very relaxed and excited about their wedding. They wanted to have fun and they wanted their guests to have a great time.
