Hitchin Priory Wedding Photographer
I loved Janine and Edd’s wedding for many reasons! The warmth and welcome form their family and relatives, the smiles that featured all day long, the emotions during the ceremony and speeches in particular and also the lovely venue that is Hitchin Priory. I still remember that Janine mentioned to me during the preparations, almost in an apologetic tone, that the church was not very glamourous (or a word to that effect) but that it was their local church. I have to agree that the Methodist church in Stevenage is not St. Paul’s Cathedral, however it was certainly the most emotional ceremony that I have certainly witnessed this year, a ceremony that included singing from Janine’s sister that brought a tear too many including the photographer! it is not the location that matters, but the feelings, emotions and the spirit of the day that counts.
The reception took place in Hitichin Priory, a gorgeous location and expertly managed by Mat and his team! I can confirm that the food was delicious and I was very grateful for being so well looked after on the day!
The afternoon was relaxed, guest enjoying the drinks reception and walks on the grounds and we took the opportunity for a short portrait session also. I aim to keep those sessions to 10 minutes or so which is enough to capture some strong portraits and then leave the married couple to re-join their guests and enjoy the drinks and canapes. After a second confetti shot, it was time for dinner and speeches, followed by the first dance and the father-daughter dance (and mum and daughter) a tradition that we don’t see enough but that I really enjoy.
