Portsmouth wedding photographer – Charlotte and Peter
Dear Alexis,
We have really enjoyed looking through all of the images – they are perfect, thank you. An excellent review of our day – we couldn’t have wishes for more. It is exactly what we hoped for and are so pleased we chose you all those months ago!
Variety is the key for success in my opinion as a wedding photographer. I love that each weekend that I photograph a wedding, it is different from the previous wedding. The locations are different, the people and their friends are different too. Couples also plan their day differently focusing on different things.
The wedding of Charlotte and Peter took place in Portsmouth. After covering the getting ready preparations, we headed out for the Naval base where the religious ceremony took place at St. Anne’s church. It was a lovely service, with a friendly vicar. There was a military feel to the morning with many of Charlotte’s friend in uniform and creating a guard of honour as they exited the church. After the ceremony, we went to the seaside for a few minutes to take a few portraits before heading out the Charlotte’s childhood home. A lovely marquee had been erected and the place looked beautiful. I quite like the special feel that there is when couples get married at their family homes.
The drinks reception took place outdoors and it is one of my favourite times of the day to document, old friend re-acquainting themselves, different sides of the family meeting for the first time perhaps etc…
After the drinks reception, the wedding breakfast was ready to be served and it was followed by speeches from the father of the bride, the groom and the best man, all very good and heartfelt speeches.
I often like to grab the couple for a quick night shot before or after the first dance (depending on timings). We took a couple of shots, before making our way back into the marquee for the first dance.
Charlotte and Peter are a lovely couple and it was really nice to document their wedding day and get to know them a little bit. Below is a selection of my favourite images for the day, I hope that you enjoy them!
