I really enjoyed capturing Angela and Suhail’s wedding!I was very fortunate to be the Leicester City rooms wedding photographer for their special day! They had come across as such a lovely couple before the wedding day, and they were just great to work with. It was a very sunny and warm day. Not quite typical for England but typical for this extraordinary summer that we are having. The morning started with the bride and groom getting ready at the venue. The venue is very practical as it has many different areas that can be used and also room for the guests to stay in. The atmosphere in the morning was very relaxed. There was no rush at all and everything was running to time. The ceremony was beautiful and full of emotions.  Angela was emotional on seeing her dad and it was beautiful to witness and capture.

The ceremony also included readings from friends and family as well as beautiful music played by Angela’s singing teacher. After the ceremony, guests had drinks and canapés in the main rooms of the venue. There was laughter, children running and playing around and more live music. It was a lovely way to celebrate their union as husband and wife.

Lovely speeches and dancing

The bride and groom made their way back to the main room at the venue for their wedding breakfast and speeches. It all looked amazing. There were a few emotional and beautiful speeches followed by a gorgeous meal. The speeches were meaningful which is always important in my eyes. Real words that mean something to the bride and groom, reminds them or previous stories, adventures or periods of their lives. After the meal, the guests had some time to relax and we managed to sneak out for a few minutes to do a few portraits of the bride and groom. I like to keep this time short and relaxed. After this, it was time for the cutting of the cake and then some dancing before it was time for me to say goodnight.

I had a fantastic time documenting this wedding. It was all I look for in wedding photography. Real moments and real emotions. The bride and groom and their guests were great to work with too. I have worked at Shustoke Farm Barns since its opening a few years ago. Shustoke Barn weddings are lovely because of its beautiful and relaxed setting. Shustoke Barns is also well known for the lovely food that they provide. It is a rustic barn with lots of character and an ideal setting for a relaxed wedding.  I was very much looking forward to the wedding of J & D on a summer, although overcast day. I had spoken to the bride and groom on the phone prior to the wedding and they seemed really easy going and relaxed about their wedding.

I arrived to capture a few photos f the bride getting ready. It was busy house with about 12 bridesmaids and other family members. It was busy but that made it fun! I really enjoy documenting when there is lots going on. There was an emotional “reveal” to the dad, when the dad sees the bride wearing her wedding dress for the first time. It was beautiful to witness the raw emotions and this what I mostly enjoy in documenting weddings. Weddings are such a roller coster of emotions for families. Shortly after I left for the venue where the groom and guests were gathering.

A lovely ceremony and a surprise

The wedding ceremony was short yet beautiful. It included a couple of beautiful readings and the bride and grooms children were also there which was great. The bride had organised a surprise for the groom. He is a fan of Oasis and Liam Gallagher and she had hired a Gallagher tribute singer to sing during the drinks reception. I enjoyed seeing the joy in the groom at the surprise and the joy in the bride’s eyes in seeing him so happy. The reception went smoothly but a few drops of rain starting to fall down as it was time to head in for the wedding breakfast, great timing!

After the wedding breakfast, it was time for speeches. There were a few people talking including both parents, the groom and then four best men. It was nice to hear all of the speeches and they were all of the right length so it was entertaining for everyone. we then took the opportunity to take a few portraits as it was dry, did a confetti run before everyone headed back int the barn for the first dance.

It was a really nice wedding to be part of. Everyone was very friendly and the bride and groom were a joy to work with. Jephson Gardens is a lovely wedding venue situated in the middle of Leamington Spa. It is a beautiful venue with lots of greenery, both inside and outside. The glass walls and roofs make it very bright and airy which is great.  This was the venue chosen by Laura and Max for their wedding day. I started the day documenting the bride getting ready at her mother’s house. It was a relaxed morning and I got there in time to catch a few getting ready images before heading to the venue. The mood at both places was very relaxed. The weather was nice with some sunshine coming through on occasions. Certainly one of the better days we’ve had this spring.

The ceremony was beautiful, not too long and with a couple of readings. One of them was Joey’s (from Friends) speech around loving and sharing and caring, which made everyone smile, in particular the Friends series fans! After the ceremony, the drinks reception ensued. The indoor space at Jephson Gardens is great. We wee blessed wth good weather but still a bit chilly outside so the light and trees inside made it feel as we were outdoors.

A lovely early spring afternoon

The speeches preceded the wedding meal. This is something that I am seeing more often of these days. It does make sense, as that way the speakers can enjoy their meal without worrying about the speeches. This is one of my favourite moments of the wedding day, as I get to know and learn a bit more about the bride and groom. After the meal, there was some down time before the first dance. It all went down well and guests enjoyed dancing to a live band.

I have been documenting weddings at Shustoke Farm Barns literally since it opened in August 2013. It is a beautiful secluded and self sufficient wedding barn. The food is always gorgeous and the set up is practical with enough areas for guest to wonder in, whatever the whether.  This was the venue chosen By Stephanie and George for their wedding. I really enjoy Shustoke Farm barn weddings and their wedding was no exception!

I started the day documenting some getting ready images of the brides and bridesmaids before heading to the venue to see the groom and the guests. Everyone was in a good mood. It was a very relaxed morning. Upon arrival at the venue, I could sense the excitement, those last few minutes before something big is about to happen. I enjoy one of the images below of George’s mum holding her son’s hand. I really strive to look and capture those fleeting moments, that say a lot about the people and their relationships. It was a civil ceremony that included some readings from those close to the bride and groom. The ceremony was short and beautiful.

An afternoon in the sun and rain

There were some spells of rain on the day, but they dod not affect the moods of their guests. Some ventured inside during these moments, some just enjoyed being outside and using umbrellas to protect themselves from the rain. The usual canapés and drinks took place. I enjoy observing this time of the day which is when the bride and groom get to chat to their guests. After a while, it was time for the wedding breakfast followed by some lovely speeches. They were funny, relevant, original and not too long, which is often very difficult to judge. The evenign proceeded with some drinks outside before going back into the barn for the first dance.

I really enjoy Shustoke farm barn weddings because of the location and the team that run the day. There are some many moving parts during a wedding and it takes good coordination to make sure that everything runs smoothly. I was looking forward to their wedding day. Billy and Mitch are two lovely people, very funny and caring and made me feel very welcome on their day. We had a good laugh and I really enjoyed capturing images for them to remember. Billy and Mitch like to do things in style as you can see by their first kiss! The day was filled with laughter and lots of hugs, I love hugs! Everybody was so happy for them that there weren’t many dry eyes in the room during their wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed drinks outside before being called for dinner and speeches. The speeches really had it all. Some very emotional one’s, in particular from the parents and some really funny one’s (what was said cannot be repeated) in particular from the Billy’s brothers.

It was really a lovely and relaxed celebration that I was very pleased to capture for Billy and Mitch.

The day started at the Belfry before going to St. Cuthbert’s Church in Shustoke, just a stone’s throw away from Shustoke Farm Barn. From the moment that I arrived at the church I was warmly welcomed by the guests and the best men. We had great fun throughout the day, everyone joking and smiling at me!

Mike and Bex are a lovely couple, clearly in love and very happy in each other’s company. Their family and friends are a testament to their personality. It was a great celebration and it was a pleasure to document it for them!

I started the day at St. John’s Hotel in Solihull where Ella and her bridesmaids were getting ready. I got there on time to take a few getting ready shots and then go to the venue to see the groom and guests waiting for Ella’s arrival in a lovely limousine! The ceremony was brief, with a couple of readings, yet quite emotional and it was clear to see the joy and happiness in both Ella and Martin in getting married but also how much it meant for their family and friends. It was a beautiful day with the sun shining but not too hot, the perfect combination!

The drinks reception took place in the courtyard at Shustoke Farm Barns and the guests were  treated to some live music before going for their wedding breakfast. The food, being part of the Cripps Kitchen, was as expected beautiful and plentiful. Lovely speeches followed, being incredibly original. The best man’s speech included a play on Martin’s passion for cars which was incredibly funny and carefully put together.

Another surprise, and lovely addition to the day, came during the first dance, when Ella an Martin had carefully planned a routine to the delight of all their guests.

It was a lovely day for me and a joy to capture the love of two lovely people. Below are some of my favourite of the day, I hope that you like them! As I started this blog post, Shustoke Farm Barns weddings is a gorgeous venue and I would certainly recommend it if you are looking for a venue in the West Midlands.

The day was a mixed of English and Brazilian guests (explains some of the moves at the end of this set of images) in a relaxed and welcoming setting in Shustoke Farm Barns. Becky was incredibly calm in the morning having allowed for plenty of time to enjoy some drinks and present some gifts to her bridesmaids. Daniel, as you can see in some of the pics, was a little bit nervous waiting for Becky but that quickly passed and the two of them had a great day mingling with the guests and having a great time. We took 10 minutes to take a wander around the venue and take some candid portraits before they were called for their wedding breakfast at the Barn. Speeches took place before the meal and they were incredibly emotional as well as funny and included a little dance at the end paying tribute to the grooms background and antics from his university days

I left Becky and Daniel after speeches to enjoy the evening with their guests.
