I was very much looking forward to being the Oxford Trinity College wedding photographer for the wedding of O & A. i love Oxford weddings, there is something really nice about them. Whether it is the vibe of the city and the colleges, I always enjoy working in Oxford. I had spoken to the bride and groom in preparation to the wedding and I knew that it would be a great day. They both came across as a lovely couple, down to earth and approachable.

My wedding coverage started at the bride’s Hotel where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids. It was a lovely summer day in Oxford, the sun was out from time to time and it wasn’t overly warm. Perfect conditions really for a wedding! I could tell that there was a great relationship between the bridesmaids and the bride. Everyone was relaxed and at ease with each other. Joking, smiling and have a good time. It was nice that the mother of the bride was there also getting ready.

After a while, I left for Oxford Trinity College to take a few photographs of guests arriving and the groom. I love seeing guests arriving and showing their love to the groom. Friends and family, all there because they care about the bride and groom. For those who were not familiar with the college, it was also the opportunity to visit and see such a beautiful college.

A wedding ceremony and drinks reception at the College

The wedding took place at the Chapel, in the ground of the college. It was a lovely ceremony and the priest was very enthusiastic and friendly. It was a shame that I was not allowed to photograph from the front but the bride and groom knew that these were the priest’s requirements and they were happy with that. The Chapel looked stunning, with the addition of lovely flowers to make the colours pop even more. After the bride and groom said their I do’s they left the chapel and we took a few minutes to take a few photos around the quad. During this time, the guests were lining up outside the chapel for a confetti throw. the guests were then invited for drinks and canapésIt was really a nice afternoon with guests relaxing and enjoying the violin music played by one the guests.

Before the wedding breakfast, I went with the bride and groom to take a few photos by a couple of locations in Oxford that were meaningful to them. It was great to see the tourists and crowds reacting to them and congratulating them. On our return, guests were seated and ready to start the wedding breakfast. After the wedding breakfast, there were a few speeches and this was followed by the cutting of the cake.

An Evening Party at Brasenose College

The bride and groom had opted to move venues for the evening party. There was a nice marquee and band set up. There was also a gin bar as well as a hog roast. It all went, from what I understand, exactly as it had been planned. Guests were having fun, whether it was on the dance floor or relaxing outdoors. The first dance was lovely, the bride and groom having prepared a dance to the delight of their guests. I stayed to document a bit of the dancing before heading home.

I was looking forward to be the Jewish wedding photographer at Ardington House for the wedding of Naomi and Ben. I had met them and spoken to them on the phone before and I knew that they would be great on the day. The wedding day itself started in Reading. I covered the getting ready of the bride while my friend Emil Boczek documented the groom. The morning was fairly relaxed at the bride’s house, with some nerves visible but everyone in great spirits. A wedding is a big day of course. Everyone wants for everything to go well. The weather was on our side, with some nice sunshine throughout the day. This wedding was also special as it was the getting together of two families from two different countries, England and France.  Jewish weddings have many rituals that  are followed and makes it intense and full on, which is what I like!  I had never worked at the Reading synagogue and it is a beautiful building with good light coming in.

The ceremony was lovely with some fun moments too and it was immediately followed by the signing of the register. The guests then made their way out for a confetti through before making the short journey to Ardington House. The bride and groom had organised Route masters for their guests to get to the venue.

A lovely reception at Ardington House

I have worked on a few occasions before at Ardington House, it is a beautiful venue in the countryside in Oxfordshire. The bride and groom enjoyed drinks and canapés in the House and outdoors before heading for the marquee. The reception included Isreali dancing, prayers, a nice meal,  speeches and more dancing! It was a really good party as everyone was just happy to have fun. Children were playing around on the lawns, while adults were chatting, dancing and mingling.

I was very happy to document this wedding. Naomi and Ben are a lovely couple, caring, enthusiastic and friendly and it was a pleasure to document their day. The day came for the wedding of J & J. I was looking forward to being the Tythe Barn Bicester wedding photographer. I had heard about the Tythe Barn before but never had the opportunity to work there. It is a beautiful wedding venue in Oxfordshire. The day was a rather grey and wet October day. On arrival to the venue, rain was coming down pretty hard. I met the bride and her family at the Nook. The Nook is a secluded large room that includes a make up area, lounge and a room. It is ideal for brides to get ready at without worrying of being seen by the guests. The weather had not affected the mood at all. Everyone was in good spirits. The bride prefers cold than too warm anyway and she was not concerned at all. This is the ideal outlook in my opinion, there are some elements such as the weather than we cannot control.

After a while, the groom arrived with the groomsmen. They waited patiently until it was time for the ceremony to start. The bridesmaids walked down the aisle first followed by the bride and her dad. Big smiles were on show by everyone. It was a beautiful ceremony that included some readings by family members. The guests were then invited to the adjacent room for drinks and canapés.

A relaxed afternoon and wedding breakfast

Another of the great features of the Tythe Barn is the amount of room that the venue can offer.  On a dry day, the outdoors gardens are beautiful for an outdoors drinks reception. On a wet day, there are too large and bright rooms to the side of the main barn that are great for guests to mingle. It is great when venues can offer different areas for guest to use! it was great to see adults chatting together and children running around and playing. There was no sense of rush or urgency, everything was going at a nice pace.

We were able to go outside for a fee portraits although it was not entirely dry. After a while, it was time for the wedding breakfast. The staff f the venue did a great job in turning the room around in time for dinner. After a lovely a three course meal, it was time for speeches. the speeches were heart felt and not too long, which is a great combination in my opinion. It was then time for guests to stretch their legs before joining the bride and groom on the dance floor.

It really was a lovely day for J & J. They were a lovely couple to work with, relaxed and friendly. They wanted a documentary approach for their wedding day. I was looking forward to being the Weston Manor wedding photographer for the wedding of A & L. I had met with them at my studio a couple of weeks before their wedding. They are a lovely couple who were looking for a beautiful wedding day with friends and families. The venue, the Manor Hotel on Weston on the Green is in Oxfordshire. It is a beautiful Hotel with ample space for wedding ceremonies. I had been at this venue on a couple of prior occasions and I was looking forward to returning.

The weather was not great for their wedding day sadly. In fact, it rained for most of the day so the wedding had to take place indoors. The bride and groom had hoped to perhaps have the ceremony outdoors but the weather was not playing ball. It however did not dampen the mood for the day. Everyone was smiling and relaxed and getting on with things. I arrived to capture a few shots of the bride getting ready. She was with her nieces and sister, who was also her bridesmaid. Also present was the family dog from the bride. In fact, this wedding had two lovely dogs present for part of the day, which made this day special too. The mood was calm with a little bit of anticipation. Guests were starting to arrive and congregating at the bar.

The ceremony was beautiful. A cello played for the guests and it was beautiful to hear in a such a grand setting as the main room at the venue. Both bride and groom were a bit emotional and there were readings from family members and friends. After the first kiss and the signing of the register, it was time for everyone to enjoy drinks and canapés.

An afternoon wedding reception

The wedding reception included more cello playing. I really love the sound of the cello and it complemented beautifully the wedding reception. A magician was also present entertaining children and grown ups too! Guests moved around the Hotel and it has some nice spots for people to get together and chat. After the drinks reception, it was then time for a lovely three course dinner followed by speeches. They were all beautiful and memorable, from the heart and original. Tis is what I really  like, when speeches are personal and meaningful! We got a lucky break after the speeches as the rain stopped for a few minutes to venture outside for a few portraits before heading back in for the first dance.

I was lucky to photography a wedding a St Edmund Hall a few years ago. I have returned a few times since. St Edmund Hall weddings are beautiful. They tend to be fairly intimate as the venue is fairly small but stunning! The venue was meaningful to the couple as Edward had studied there. Emma and Edward had studied in the UK but are based in Australia. It was a wedding of around 40 people, mainly family and a few friends. I started by capturing a few shots of “boys” before heading to the Old Bank Hotel. Emma was getting ready there with her family. Everyone was relaxed and I enjoyed capturing of the bridal party going to the venue. It was great to see the reactions of tourists and passers-by. It was a very short walk to the college. The wedding ceremony took place in the wonderful 17th century chapel. It was a great setting! The ceremony was lovely and afterwards guests enjoyed the grounds of the college for their drinks reception and canapés!

Great food and great speeches

St Edmund Hall weddings are great because of the professional staff and the perfect setting. The main Hall were the wedding breakfast took place is full of history. It looks great and is ideal for small weddings. The mood was relaxed and informal. There were a few speeches after the wedding breakfast. They were all very meaningful and well prepared. Before the ceremony, the groom was rehearsing his speech for a long time and it was great to see how important it was for him to deliver a good speech. After the speeches, there was some time for the guests to stretch their legs outside before the first dance. The first dance was followed by some more dancing before I finished the coverage for their wedding day.

I really enjoyed capturing Emma and Edward’s wedding day. They were both very happy and relaxed. They had chosen to spend their wedding day with their close family and friends. There were so many lovely moments that I enjoyed capturing and I am very happy with this set. Below are some of my favourite images from their wedding day, I really hope that you like them. When the day for Gemma and Lewis came around, I was delighted that it was at Eynsham Hall. Eynsham Hall Wedding photography is beautiful. There are many strong visual points at the venue. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are gorgeous and spacious. The morning of their wedding, the weather was dry although a tad overcast. I arrived at the venue at the end of Gemma’s make up session. I was able to capture a few images of her and her bridesmaids before heading to the church for the wedding ceremony. The church had a special meaning to the couple and in particular to Lewis and his family. It was their family church and the church were Lewis’s mum now rests in peace. It was important to them to have the ceremony there, at a church where Lewis parents had also got married some years before. It was a bit blustery as the bride arrived. Gemma was visibly emotional and it was a lovely and meaningful service. After the ceremony, Gemma and Lewis went to lay some flowers which really touched me. Similar circumstances perhaps, as my mum passed away a year before my wedding and she was very much present in my thoughts on my wedding day.

Beautiful surroundings at Eynsham Hall

Eynsham Hall is stunning and elegant without being pretentious. It is a great setting whether guests spend time inside or outside. The drinks reception took place indoors as it was a little bit windy outside. We did however venture outdoors for some portraits and family photos. The drinks reception was followed by the wedding breakfast and speeches. Speeches are emotional moments at times, fun at others. I really like them as I also get to know the couples a little bit more. After the speeches, there was some free time for the guests to enjoy the venue… and also to enjoy the photo booth. It provided with lots of fun moments, some of which you can see here.

I was very much looking forward to being the Perch wedding photographer for Amy and Greg. The day started at St. Edmunds Hall, a lovely venue that I have worked at previously. Amy was getting ready at the college. It was a beautiful day, to start with, before getting a few showers later in the day. In fact, as Greg and Amy were lighting their candles, there was thunder outside. The weather did not dampen the mood of what was a gorgeous and joyous day. The ceremony was meaningful with Greg’s dad playing the guitar during the service. It was also great to have Ted, their lovely son witnessing their mum and dad getting married. After the ceremony, a few drinks were served at the college before everyone making their way to The Perch, only about 15 minutes away.

A relaxed afternoon at the Perch

We took the opportunity to walk through Oxford to the place were Amy and Greg were getting a boat to the Perch. It was a nice way for them to make their entrance, arriving in a boat to guests waiting with confetti. The afternoon was very relaxed with guests chatting and children playing. A delicious meal was served and it was followed by speeches. There was then sometime for the guests to relax and enjoy the outdoors as it stopped raining for a while. The evening entertainment started with Greg’s dad and partner playing an acoustic set, before Greg, also a musician, playing a newly composed song for his wife. It was then time for the band to start playing and the bride and groom have their first dance.

It really was a stunning wedding day, with lots of things happening, lots of really nice moments. Greg and Amy (and Ted) are a great couple, very relaxed and welcoming and I really had a nice time capturing their wedding day. I was very excited to be the Blenheim Palace wedding photographer for the marriage of Saira and Tim. I had met them slightly over a year before their wedding at my studio. They came across as a lovely, happy and excited couple. They were planning for an elegant, yet relaxed wedding day. They chose to get married on the day of the Blenheim Palace Proms as there are usually fireworks at the end of the night.

The day started with me taking a few shots of Saira getting ready in Oxford. I then drove to Blenheim Palace. The wedding itself took place at the church by the Palace gate. A beautiful service with a very friendly priest. After the ceremony we went to the Orangery at Blenheim Palace where the rest of the day took place.

A perfect wedding day in a gorgeous setting

I sometimes get asked what a “perfect wedding day” looks like or what is the “best wedding I have photographed”. The honest truth is that I haven’t got a perfect answer for this. Many weddings are “perfect” and fantastic because they are what couples were looking for. Some weddings take place in grand settings, some wedding have fantastic weather, some weddings have lots of things happening, some have great colours, etc… I think that this wedding was perfect for Saira and Tim as it really combined all the different elements that they were looking for. It is difficult to beat Blenheim Palace on a sunny day in terms of visual impact. But as usual, it is the people, the friendship, the family love that makes a wedding day special. Everybody was having a fab time, enjoying the venue, the food, the entertainment put in place. Saira and Tim are a lovely couple who are genuinely caring and I really enjoyed capturing these wonderful memories for them

The ceremony took place at St. Mary’s church in Iffley before proceeding to Cogges farm for the drinks reception, meal and evening dancing. Cogges farm is a beautiful venue, a working farm with the ability for families to visit and feed the animals, so if you are in the area make sure that you visit it, it is pretty and friendly. The sun stayed out and guests were able to enjoy drinks and canapés outdoors before heading into the barn for the wedding breakfast. I took the opportunity just before the bride and groom were announced in, to take a few portraits of the two of them. After the meal, came the speeches which were all sincere, heartfelt and funny and had the guests entertained. I certainly enjoy listening to speeches, I often reflect on my own experiences through them as I am capturing the tears, the laughter and the joy.

Before the first dance, guests enjoyed a few more moments outdoors before watching the bride and groom having their first dance and then joining them on the dance floor. It was a beautiful day, relaxed and family orientated, which is the way I like to document weddings, with minimal intervention from my side, just capturing the day as it unfolds.

Having your wedding at Eynsham Hall is a great experience. Eynsham Hall is one of Oxfordshire’s great Country houses and a gorgeous Hotel. I have been lucky to work at this venue in both summer and winter weddings. The venue looked stunning in both seasons. On the day of Misha and Nicholas wedding, the weather was cold with a bit of snow still visible in parts. It was thankfully dry and light and the venue looked stunning as always. It was just a week before Christmas, and it was nice to see the decorations out! I arrived early enough to capture a few shots of the bride getting ready and guests arriving. Everyone was happy and relaxed. I enjoy weddings were everything happens at the same venue, so there is no rush or need to get into cars or worry about the traffic. Both the bride and groom got ready in the Hotel and had only to come down a flight of stairs before reaching the ceremony room.

The ceremony was lovely, with some funny moments and beautiful readings. After the ceremony, the guests were invited to drinks and canapés and we also took a moment to capture a few family photos. I really enjoy the time during the drinks reception to capture some unposed portraits of some of the guests and some of the images that tell the story of how the day “felt”.

An elegant wedding reception

After the drinks reception, the guests were invited for the wedding breakfast in a glorious room. Eynsham Hall is certainly elegant, yet it doesn’t feel over bearing or “too much”. It is the right amount to feel special but yet at ease with the decor. Speeches followed the meal before guests had a break, before the first dance. During this break time, we were able to go outside for a couple of night portraits before the evening party started.

It was a beautiful wedding and I am grateful to Misha and Nicholas to commissioning me to document their wedding day. Both were very friendly during the day and a joy to work with. below is short selection of images from their wedding day.
