Wasing Park is a gorgeous wedding venue, whatever the wether or the season. I enjoy winter weddings as they have their own charm. Wasing Park also offers a variety of rooms and areas that make it a great wedding venue for cold or rainy days.  I had met C and C on a couple of occasions at my studio. We went over their plans for the wedding day and it was great to know them before the wedding.

Everything took place at Wasing Park which was great, there was no need to travel between venues. I started capturing a few photos of the boys. They were very relaxed and there was a good ambiance in the room. I then headed over to the bridal suite to capture a few photos of the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready. As per the boys, they were all in great spirits and having fun!
Because of daylight and timings on the day, I had suggested that we took some portraits of the bride and groom before the wedding ceremony. The plan was for the bride and groom to see each other anyway before the ceremony and this worked well for them. This meant that they would have more time in the afternoon to be with their guests with still some day light.

A ceremony in the Garden Room

Shortly after I took  a few portraits of the bride and groom, it was time for the main event of the day to take place in the Garden Room. The ceremony was simply yet beautiful and included two readings. It was also great to see the children of the bride and groom bring forward the wedding rings. After the “I do’s”, it was time to head outside for a confetti tunnel before heading back in for canapés and drinks. The weather was not too cold but there was a little bit of rain, which meant that guests were happy to stay indoors. It was great to see people having fun and catching up over a drink. We took some time also to capture a few family photographs before heading for the barn and the wedding breakfast.

The barn at Wasing Park, especially in winter looked great. The red bricks with the candle lights made it look really atmospheric and it is a great place for the evening reception. After a lovely three course meal, the speeches took place. They were all lovely and heartfelt and it was great to see the bride taking centre stage too, something I see more and more often.

After the wedding speeches, guests were invited back to the garden room for coffees while the experiences staff at Wasing Park turned the room around for the dancing. In addition to the first dance, there was a lovely moment with a street dance group performing for the bride and groom. One of the dancers was the son of the bride and it was great to see him perform.

I really had a great time capturing the wedding of C & C, a really down to earth couple. They were so keen to make sure that their guests had a great time and they surely achieve that. I had heard of Herons Fram before as it is fairly local to. It is in the country of Berkshire, where I live, but I hadn’t documented a wedding there to date. I was very happy that R & A had chosen me to be their Herons Fram wedding photographer. The bride and groom both live abroad. They travelled back home a few days before their wedding and I met them at my studio. It was always nice to get to know my couples before their wedding day. They were very excited about their day and looking forward to celebrating with the friends and family.

On the day, I arrived early at the farm to take a few pictures on the bride getting ready with her bridesmaids and mum. The venue looked great. It is a working farm with over 100 horses dotted around the vast property. It was nice to see horses being taken care as I parked. The bride and bridesmaids were in the main house. It was busy but joyful, everyone was very calm but lots of laughter. The bride had organised for a nice car to take them to the church. Her dad was waiting for her as she came down the stairs looking fantastic in her wedding dress.

A lovely service at St. Mary’s church in  Upper Woolhampton

The service took place at St Mary.s, a catholic church literally next door to Douai Abbey. It is a beautiful setting and the priest was very friendly and welcoming. It was lovely to see guests arriving in what was a glorious day. The sun was out, the sky was blue and although it was warm, it wasn’t overly hot. There were many children around, which is also great to see at weddings.

The bride arrived perfectly on time and flower girls (and pageboy) and bridesmaids were there waiting for her. The service was beautiful, not too long but with many songs and readings. It is nice ti see people involved during the service. At the end of the service,  the bride and groom left the church to be welcomed by some confetti. We took a few family photos there, before heading back to the Farm

A glorious afternoon at the farm

The rest of the events took place back at the farm. The farm offers ample space for guests to sit outdoors and walk around the venue. There are also some green areas where kids and adults alike can play. And the kids and adults in attendance took advantage of it,. It really felt like a good day out where families get to hang out and have fun. I was even roped into the hula hoop game, although i was pretty bad at it!

After the drinks reception, we headed into the barn for the wedding speeches and the wedding meal. The speeches were really nice and they were followed by a lovely meal. Guests spilled outdoors and enjoyed more of the sunshine. The owner of the property took the bride and groom around for a little tour of the property so we could take some nice portraits.

On our return. it was nearly time for the first dance. Everyone was having so much fun and there was so much to photograph that the day went very quickly for me. After the first dance was over, I stayed for a bit longer to capture some more of dancing.

It was a really relaxed and beautiful wedding in gorgeous surroundings. The staff at the venue were amazing and so were the guests. I felt very welcomed by everyone and had some lovely conversations with some of the guests fa family members. R & A were incredibly friendly, attentive, caring and relaxed. I genuinely had a great time with them and I hope to see them next year when they return to the UK.

A very wedding that I attend is unique for many reasons. Every guest and every couple are unique with their own traits, personalities and backgrounds. The venues that they choose for their wedding are also chosen carefully to match the vibe and atmosphere that they want to create.  T & M had chosen to have a Farm wedding. M works for a company that has a barn in a working farm that can be used for events.  The owner of the company very kindly agreed for T & M to use it for their wedding. As venues go, this could easily be a fully working wedding venue. It is in fact more often than not used for training and corporate events. The bride and groom  (and their families) did a great job in decorating it and making it look beautiful for their wedding day.

My day started at the bride’s family home. The bride and her bridesmaids were getting ready. I enjoy capturing these moments as they are always fun and it allows me to get to know people before the ceremony. The bride was very calm and everyone was in good spirits. The sun was shining which was great. After an hour or so, I left for the wedding venue. Everything looked immaculate. The barn is a modern barn, very bright and with beautiful grounds around it. They bride and groom had chosen to have a humanist ceremony. They are usually great as the bride and groom can customise it to some extent to suit their personalities. The bride arrived on time and everything ran smoothly. There were two nice readings from the mums and a hand fasting ceremony. After the ceremony guests were invited outside for drinks and canapes.

An outdoor drinks reception

One of the highlights, in terms of the wedding venue, has to be its outdoor space. Especially on a nice and warm sunny day. The temperature was just perfect, warm but not too hot. Great for enjoying drinks outside. The grounds include a lake with ducks swimming in it. It all contributes to making the ideal setting for a lovely afternoon. After a confetti shot, the bride and groom milled with their guests. I loved seeing people having a good time together. From parents with their children to old school friend reunited. We will use some of this time for a few selected family photos and a few portraits of the bride and groom as guests find their seats for the wedding breakfast.

The wedding breakfast was carefully planned. It has a barbecue style, with the food cooked outdoors. Guests were also able to sample some nice shots of sloe gin prepared by the mother of the bride. It seemed to go down very well! The wedding breakfast was followed by some short, yet meaningful speeches. Guests were then allowed some free time to roam around the venue and relax.

A fun quartet band

The evening entertainment was provided by a really good and fun band that had people on the dance floor even before the first dance. They were very energetic and played tunes that made everyone want to join them on the dance floor. The first dance followed after their first set. The dance included some lifts and it they were very well executed. The guests joined the bride and groom on the dance floor and the party was well on its way when I left.

I was very excited to be the Coworth Park wedding photographer for the wedding of A & E. Coworth Park in Ascot is a gorgeous wedding venue, part of the Dorchester family. It is a lovely venue to work at. I was looking forward to seeing A & E again. I had met them last year at their engagement party. Both very friendly and relaxed. I was joined on the day by Dan, who helped document the groom getting ready and second shot for the rest of the day. Many of the images on this post were captured by him

Our day started in the morning at Coworth Park where both bride and groom were getting ready. Everyone was calm, happy and enjoying their time with their friends and families. It was great to see the bride with her bridesmaids having a good time. People were coming in and out of the room and there was a god atmosphere. It was a black tie wedding and everyone looked great in their outfits. The wedding ceremony took place in a nearby church. The ceremony was beautiful and had some funny moments. After the ceremony and some confetti, all the guests returned to Coworth Park for drinks and reception.

A relaxed afternoon in beautiful surroundings

It was a summer wedding and the summer had been really hot in the UK. The temperature on this day was lovely, not too hot or cold however the weather was overcast with the risk of rain. Luckily, only a few drops of rain arrived in the afternoon towards the end of the drinks reception. The grounds are lovely and we were able to do a few family photos and portraits of the bride and groom before the guests went inside for the end of the drinks and then the wedding breakfast.

The wedding breakfast was served in a beautifully decorated room. There was opera performance by family members of the bride and groom, heartfelt speeches and of course lovely food. After the end of the speeches. the guests had some time to relax before the first dance. I stayed for a couple of hours after the first dance to document some of the party before heading home.

It was  a great pleasure to document the wedding of A & E at such a lovely and prestigious venue. It is great to work a t great venues but more important for me, it is to work at weddings with relaxed people who want to have a genuinely good time. I really enjoy documenting Lillibrooke Manor weddings. The venue is relaxed and beautiful. It is set in Berkshire near Maidenhead. The main area used for weddings is the Barn. There are other areas for the bride to get ready and for the civil ceremony. If the weather is nice. guests can also enjoy drinks in the gardens. Lillibrooke Manor was the venue chosen by S & M for their wedding reception.

My day started at theRiver Arts club documenting the bride getting ready. It was a nice morning and the bride and her bridesmaids were getting ready in one of the lovely rooms that the venue offers. I normally try to capture a few shots depicting the mood and surroundings before heading for the ceremony. The wedding ceremony took place in Marlow, only a 15 minutes drive away. The ceremony was nice. Afterwards, the guests greeted the bride and groom by releasing balloons which was a nice touch and fun to capture. After this, it was time to head to venue.

A Barn Wedding Reception

The weather had turned a little blustery by the time the bride and groom arrived at the venue. The umbrellas were out but the guests were still able to stay in the garden for a while as it was just a short shower. The weather turned very wet later, when luckily all guests were in the barn for dinner. The drinks reception was relaxed with guests enjoying champagne and canapés. Some guests were playing crocket, some other were taking pictures and it was nice to see children running around too! We took a few minutes also to take a few portraits as the guests were finding their seats for the wedding breakfast.

Speeches preceded the wedding breakfast, something that I see happening more frequently. This is great for speakers as they can then eat and relaxed without being worried about the speeches. After a gorgeous three course meal, the guests had a few minutes to stretch their legs before the cutting of the cake and the first dance.

It was a lovely day spent with a lovely couple. I had met S & M previously during their pre-wedding shoot and it was nice to know them already a bit better for their wedding day. Cumberland Lodge is a gorgeous venue in the heart of Windsor Great Park in Berkshire. The history of the lodge is fascinating, having been a royal residence in the past and now an educational charity. With such a pedigree, I was certainly looking forward to being the Cumberland Lodge wedding photographer for M & R’s special day! I had met them about 18 months before and was glad when their wedding day arrived. A lovely, candid and friendly couple at first impression. They were really relaxed on the day and really seem to enjoy every moment as the images below show!

My day started at the bride’s house documenting a few moments of the getting ready before heading off to the church for a few shots of the groom and the guests arriving. It was a lovely church with a friendly priest and the ceremony was beautiful. There were signs of anticipation before the bride arrived but no stress, everyone was happy and relaxed. The ceremony was lovely and their was some beautiful singing from family and friends at the church. After the service, the bride and groom left for Windsor Great Park where we stopped off for a few portraits.

A windy yet lovely reception at Cumberland Lodge

After a few portraits, we arrived at the venue where guests were mingling and enjoying drinks and canapés. It was still nice and warm but the wind had picked up a little bit. The bride and groom decided, after a confetti throw and bouquet toss, to adjourn inside for speeches. Speeches are often after the meal, but more and more couples choose to have speeches before as it allows speakers to relax during the meal. it was a beautiful room for the speeches with some lovely light! After the speeches, everyone was invited next door for a lovely sit down meal. After the meal, we took some time to do a short portrait session at the venue, just in time before it started raining. M & R were so happy that it was really easy to make some nice and effortless pictures. After this, it was time for the first dance!

Oakley Court is a gorgeous wedding venue situated near Windsor, in Berkshire. It is the place that L & J chose for their wedding day. Both the bride and groom sounded lovely when I spoke to them prior to the wedding. L had chosen to do many things herself, including the wedding dress that look great! I understand that there were some last few panics, but the effort was worth it! The groom is in the cavalry and they both share a love for animals! There were horses after the ceremony and their beloved dog made also an appearance during the day!

It all  started for me at Oakley Court were I briefly took a few photos before heading for the church.  It was a nice and very hot day, perhaps of the hottest of the summer so far. The bride got the to church in advance and everything run to time. After the a brief yet beautiful service, the guests gathered outside. Guests were taken to the church in a bus, while the bride and groom rode to the venue in a carriage and horses. It was great to see and they made a lovely entrance back at Oakley Court.

A sunny afternoon by the river

Oakley court is a an great looking venue with lots of character. The venue looks like a small castle and has been featured in many films. It is an elegant venue and is also a Hotel, which is great for guests attending the wedding. Oakley Court is also nicely situated by the river and this is where the drinks reception took place. It was nice for guests to enjoy the big space that the venue offers and walk around with a glass in their hand. After an hour or so, it was time for guests to have dinner. It was a lovely three course meal that was followed by some beautiful speeches, as many of you know, one of my favourite parts of the day. I love to hear the stories of how people met, of their childhood and of their characters. After the speeches, we took a few minutes for a few portraits with the bride and groom’s best four legged friend.  It was the time for the first dance!

I was really looking forward to the wedding of Becca and Ben. It was my first spring wedding at Ufton Court in a while. I have worked at Ufton Court in most seasons. The venue looks great whatever the weather. As far as weather goes, the day for Becca and Ben was very good. There wasn’t a huge amount of sunshine but there was no rain at all and it wasn’t too cold either. My day started capturing a few getting ready images at an Airbnb that the family had rented for the preparations. It was a lovely house by a farm in Berkshire. Everyone was easy going in the morning and time flew before it was time for me to get to the church.

There was a sense of excitement at the church, with guests relaxed but waiting for the bride to arrive. It was lovely to see the bride and groom’s son there too, looking very cute in his outfit. The ceremony was lovely and included some readings. After the service and a classic confetti run, the guests were taken to Ufton court by a Red Route Master.

A Ceilidh in the evening

The reception at Ufton Court was outdoors and in the Archers Hall. Guests have time for drinks and canapés. They were also signing a quilt which was a new tradition for me, but certainly a great idea! A lovely meal ensued in the barn, followed by speeches. It was really as relaxed a wedding as it goes, and certainly my type of weddings. After the speeches, there was a break for guests to relax before the cutting of the cake and then the dancing. The bride and groom were not keen on having a traditional dance but they preferred a Ceilidh which was great fun. People joined in and it was brilliant to watch and document!

Both their families made me feel very welcome and I had a great time capturing these memories for them. The wedding of Mary and Barry took place on a Saturday in April. It was a lovely and sunny day. Just a tad of rain in the evening. The bride and groom travelled from Australia for their special day. I knew after talking to them that they were keen on a relaxed wedding. I was looking  forward to being the Shaw House wedding photographer too. It was my first time at Shaw House, a lovely registry in Newbury. The day started at the groom’s parents house were the bride was getting ready with her family. It was a very friendly atmosphere, with everyone in great spirits and with no signs of stress at all. We then made our way to Shaw House were the groom was welcoming the guests. All worked like clock work and it was a fairly intimate wedding with around 40 guests or so.

After the ceremony and a traditional confetti run, guests were invited to the grooms parents house for drinks and nibbles. It was a simple yet beautiful gathering of family and close family friends. A couple of hours later it was then time to hop onto a Route Master to go to Windsor, to the Greene Oak for the evening reception and meal.

A wedding reception at the Greene Oak

The Green Oak is a lovely pub based in the outskirts of Windsor. It is friendly, warm and a perfect backdrop for the wedding of Mary and Barry. I love photographing weddings and the variety that they provide. I like to see how each couple chooses their wedding venue based on their style and how they envisage their wedding day.  There a little bit of rain in the evening but not enough to disrupt the proceedings. Guests enjoyed using the photobooth, drinking champagne on arrival and canapés. It was then time for a lovely meal before the evening dancing. The bride and groom did not want long speeches so only a few words were said just before the first dance.

I really enjoyed meeting Mary and Barry and their families. They are a lovely, warm and fun couple and they were a pleasure to work with. It was a lovely day for capturing Lillibrooke Manor wedding photos for Daniella and Jean-Paul. The day was slightly overcast to start with. The sun came in and out throughout the day. It was nice and warm, a very pleasant day. Dani and JP had organised the whole day at the venue. I arrived to capture the end of the bride and bridesmaids getting ready. The mood was fun and relaxed although I could sense some nerves creeping in as the ceremony time got nearer. I always like the excitement that builds up around a wedding day. One of the good things about getting ready at the venue, is that it removes the worry about traffic and travelling to the ceremony. In this case, it was a short walk from the cottage room to the barn where the ceremony took place. JP was in good spirits, greeting guests and looking smart. There were not too many signs of being nervous. The ceremony was fairly short and sweet and it included some readings. After the ceremony, the newly married couple and their guests were able to enjoy drinks in the courtyard and garden. I enjoy the drinks reception as it is a great time for documentary coverage of the wedding day.

A gorgeous afternoon and evening

The wedding breakfast followed the drinks reception. The Barn at Lillibrooke Manor is big and spacious and it looked great with all the decorations and lights. We were then able to take a few portraits outside in the late afternoon low light. We kept it short and relaxed.  Speeches followed shortly after . They were a good length of time (not too long not too short) funny and emotional at times. A perfect combination in my books! After the speeches there was some downtime for the guests to stretch their legs before the evening dancing and party. In addition to the first dance, the bride and groom had also planned a father and daughter. The guests joined in and it looked like they were having a great time by the time I left, not too long after the first dance.
