For many couples, their wedding portraits are very important and they enjoy having pictures of the two of them. They will be wearing amazing outfits, possibly at an amazing location too and they look forward to have images to remember and cherish for years to come.
In recent times, some photographers seem to have decided to take over the whole day with portraits and this is not the way I like to work. My style is mainly about capturing real moments and I feel that the bride and groom should spend a majority with their friends and family.
However, I love capturing some portraits but it is a matter of balance. I personally like taking the bride and groom for 2 short sessions (maybe 10 minutes during the drinks reception and 10 minutes at sunset) for a few portraits. The portraits will be natural, beautiful and representing them. I feed off the bride and groom too in order to create images that they like. I like to mix some portrait that will showcase the environment, with some close ups too.
You can see in this selection a variety of portraits, all captured with intention whilst ensuring that they only take a few minutes so the bride and groom can spend time socialising.
If you haven’t already done so, I would recommend visiting my recent weddings section where I show a few images from most weddings and they include a few portraits too. I hope that you enjoy this wedding portraits gallery and I look forward to hear from you soon.
