Documentary Family Photography
The time with our families is precious and our children grow so quickly. Every day life takes over some times and in the blink on an eye, it is already our children’s next birthday.
I love to capture images of my children that remind me of their personality at a given age. Photographs that remind me of what they enjoyed doing and how they spent their time. As per my wedding work, I favour natural moments over staged one’s. For me, it is about creating meaningful images that will trigger memories further down the line. What they used to wear, their favourite toys, their favourite games or places.
Documentary family photography is about telling the story of your normal day-to-day life as a family. During my ‘Day in the Life Sessions’ or ‘Documentary hourly family sessions’, I am working to create some honest, fun, real, authentic life images of your family being together, doing what you normally do. There is no posing during these sessions, just real moments.
These images will increase in personal value to you over time, as your memories start to fade away. I create artistic images that will bring you back in time of those moments that are so important. The smile of your children, or how they enjoyed (or not!) bath time, the games they played, etc… The emotions and the interactions between siblings and children and parents.
A ‘Day in the Life Session’ is, as its name suggests, a full day in your life, from the moment your children wake up to the moment they go to bed. I also offer the option of covering only half a day.
‘Documentary hourly family sessions ‘are generally 2 hour sessions perhaps centred around some of your favourite activities.
I am also available to travel to you and document 1 or 2 days during your family holidays. Below is a selection of images for you to have a look at. Please contact me to discuss my documentary family photography, availability and prices.
