It was a gorgeous day for the wedding of M&S. A sunny, yet a tad chilly spring day in March. Wedding photography at Moor Park is always beautiful, as it is such an outstanding wedding venue. The photography is even  more special when the sun is out and the light filters beautifully in all the rooms that the venue offers. Moor Park is situated just north west of London, and ideally situated. I arrived fairly early in the morning to capture a few shots of the bride getting ready. The venue offers a lovely suite for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in. By the time I arrived, the preparations were well under way.

The mood was relaxed, with everyone sipping a drink while chatting and getting ready. Everything is within reach and I was able to move around to capture a few shots of guests arriving and the groom greeting them.

An emotional wedding ceremony

Everything ran to time on the day. The bride, groom and guests alike were ready for the ceremony. It was lovely to see the emotion on both M&S faces as they saw each other for the first time during the ceremony. This is what weddings are about for me. Those real moments of joy and love that take place during a wedding. The ceremony was lovely, mixed with laughter and tears. Shortly after the ceremony, guests gathered outside for a confetti throw that was followed by a few family pics. It was still a bit chilly to have drinks outside, and guests moved indoors for the rest of the drinks reception.

Both the bride and groom love their music and a classical trio provided some beautiful music during the reception. Just before the wedding meal, the bride and groom joined me for a few portraits before being welcomed by their friends and family for the wedding breakfast.

Fun speeches and traditional dancing

After the meal, following with tradition, we had speeches. They were all lovely and emotional. And funny too. And I think that this is the perfect recipe for wedding speeches. They were also the right amount of time which means that guests are entertained. After the speeches, we adjourned to the main Hall were the bride and groom had a lovely cake waiting for them, ready to be cut! A lot of effort had been paid to and the the band were incredible as was the lighting in the room. The bride and groom performed their first dance before their family and guests joined. Shortly after, as a surprise to their guests., Sega dancers arrived onto the dance floor. The bride has a Mauritian background and the Sega dancers perform a traditional dance that is special to the bride and her family. It was beautiful to see!

Shortly after the Sega dancers. it was time for me to leave the M&S to enjoy the rest of their evening with their guest. An incredible wedding venue a throw away from London

Moor Park is situated just outside London, not far from the greater London boundary. It is about 15 miles from Central London, making it an ideal choice for people living in London but wanting a more country side feel to their wedding. It is a throw away from the M25, less than 10 minutes from the M1 and not far from the Overground and Metropolitan lines.

Moor Park is a fully functional golf club with specific areas reserved for weddings. The Mansion is from the 17th Century and you can see stunning paintings in the main rooms. Moor park used to be home to royalty as well as archbishops. The venue is filled with art and decoration that will inspire you. The wedding team is very professional and offer a tailored service to your special wedding day.

The venue is surrounded by 300 acres of woodland which makes you feel like you have escaped the hustle and bustle of the capital.

I was very excited to be the Coltsfoot Country Retreat Wedding Photographer for the wedding of E & J. It was a new venue for me. I enjoy the places that I discover through wedding photography. The day slightly blustery and windy but luckily no rain. Everything was taking at the place, from getting ready to the end of the party. The venue also offers on-site accommodation for the bride and groom and close family. I had spoken with E & J on a few occasions before the wedding. They came across as a relaxed, down to earth and friendly couple.

My day started with capturing a few pictures of the bride getting ready and the groom waiting for guests. I enjoy these moments before the ceremony were I get to capture some of the emotions from the couple and guests. Everyone was very relaxed and in good spirits. There were a couple of nice moments when the groom was reading a card from the bride. It was also very emotional when dad saw E ready in her wedding dress. Those moments are very important and meaningful to me, and hopefully for my couples too. Those images will stand the test of time and a reminder of  the love that they have for each other.

It was a civil ceremony that included two reading and some piano music. The entrance of the bride was also emotional, with the groom showing how much this moment meant to him. The ceremony was simple yet lovely and full of nice moments.

A lovely early spring afternoon

The weather was a tad windy and cold for the guest to have drinks outside. It was however not raining so we were able to do some confetti before heading in the barn. The venue is beautiful and welcoming so it not matter much that guests were inside. I enjoy capturing little moments during this time, guests having a good time. During the drinks reception I will also capture a few family shots if desired and then some portrait of the bride and groom as guests find their seats for the wedding breakfast.

A tradition that I see more and more frequently, is for the bride and groom to have the speeches before the meal. This is also what E & J chose to do.  I find it good as then everyone is relaxed during the wedding breakfast. The speeches were good and meaningful, which is very important. Speeches are that moment where you get publicly to say thank you to your family and friends, as well as sharing some personal words with your bride and groom and parents.

After the speeches followed a lovely meal and then there was some time between the end of the meal and the first dance for guest to chat and walk around the venue.

I love the variety that wedding photography brings. Each wedding is different. Some are in mansions, hotels, pubs, farms, private residencies, fields. Your world is your oyster when it comes to variety in wedding venues. I love to learn about couples and their personalities. The sort of wedding that they have chosen sometimes is a good indicator as to what they like. Laura and Adam chose a wedding ceremony outdoors that represented them well. The officiant was the father of the groom. They had a steel band. They wrote their own vows to each other. And Laura also sang for Adam, with the help of friends and family. It was all natural and felt that it matched their easy going personality. They had literally organised most things by themselves and most decorations and food had prepared by them or friends and family.  Whilst I cannot imagine the pressure of organising so much yourself, it was great to see it on the day. Everything had a specific meaning and it all looked fab on the day.

My day started with capturing a few getting ready images of the bride and her bridesmaids before heading for the farm. You can sense a few nerves when I arrived. Logistical nerves more than everything, Adam and the groomsmen making sure that everything was spot on. And it was. Even the weather was on our side and it was a beautiful temperature for an outdoor ceremony.

A lovely afternoon with family and friends

The format of the day followed a fairly classic wedding day. There was a drinks reception after the ceremony with canapés. Guests were able to enjoy the surrounding gardens and activities. During this time we also took the opportunity to capture a few family photos. Guests were then invited into the main barn at Loudwater Farm for the wedding breakfast and speeches. A lot effort had been put into place to prepare everything. Nothing was rushed and it was all very friendly and pleasant. The guests were then able to stretch their legs outside and play games while I took the bride and groom for a very short portrait session. The first dance followed after this and I bid them farewell shortly after.

It was a great day for me and it was a pleasure to meet Laura, Adam and their families. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and I had a genuine great time documenting their wedding day. Below is  slideshow that includes some of my favourite images from their wedding wedding and further down are some images extracted from the slideshow (but not all of them) to give you a flavour of their day. I was very much looking forward to being a Moor Park wedding photographer for Olivia and Luke’s special day! Moor Park is a stunning venue. An Impressive building and some lovely rooms and staircases too. Add a good dose of sunshine and it is the perfect venue for your wedding.

My day started with capturing a few getting ready images of Olivia before the ceremony. I enjoy the getting ready sessions. There is always a bit of excitement, perhaps a bit of nervousness too. The ceremony was simple yet lovely and the sound of the string quartet was beautiful. It complemented well the ceremony. Guests were then invited to join the bride and groom for drinks in the lawns at the back of Moor Park.

A sunny afternoon at Moor Park

The guests enjoyed the outdoors space throughout the day, it was such a lovely day! It was warm but not incredibly hot, just the right temperature! After the drinks reception, guests were invited for the wedding breakfast which was gorgeous. It was followed by some thoughtful speeches before all guests were invited outside for ice cream! The ice cream was a success with guests of all ages and even yours truly got the chance to sample one, they were yummy! Followed the first dance, which saw the release of balloons and then followed some fireworks!

It is fair to say that Luke and Olivia made a great job of ensuring that their guests were entertained throughout the day. Luke and Olivia are a caring couple, who wanted to have fun and celebrate their special day with friends and family. And it was a great day, I really enjoyed documenting it for them.

It was a short, yet lovely ceremony with some beautiful readings. The drinks reception took place outdoors and everyone was enjoying the lovely weather and the views onto the golf course. We took a few minutes to capture a few portraits before the wedding breakfast. The meal was lovely and speeches followed before the guests had some more time to enjoy the venue prior to the first dance and the evening activities. I enjoy observing people at weddings and there were some great subtle moments between guests that I enjoyed capturing for Hannah and Joe. The day often goes very quickly for the bride and groom and it is through their images that they can remember some of the moments that they may have forgotten about, but also about what some of the guests were doing.

It was a really nice wedding day and I was very well looked after by Hannah and Joe, a lovely couple, clearly in love and exceedingly happy together.

 We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the slideshow, they are great – can’t wait to show them to all the family. Love the ones during the speeches, some beautiful ones of the dads too. Unfortunately the video doesn’t show our grandparents anywhere so I was so hoping you’d have some shots of them- and you have so many gorgeous ones of them all! The ones of little Luke just instantly make me laugh.

I look forward to every wedding I attend, there is always something magical about capturing someone’s special wedding day! I was really looking forward to seeing Sarah and Sean whom I had met in Marlow for their pre-wedding shoot. A lovely couple, incredibly attentive and interested in other people. Funny, with great manners and very friendly – an ideal couple! I was certainly very excited of being their wedding photographer at Brockett Hall, an elegant and beautiful golf club in Hertfordshire.

Sean and Sarah prepared their wedding day with dedication, patience and created exactly the feel and mood that they wanted. Elegant and relaxed but really a big and genuine celebration with thier friends and family. I felt incredibly welcomed by everyone and whilst I have a job to do as a photographer, I really felt part of the day too. The attention to detail was exceptional having made their own invitations and a majority of the decorations.

The day started at Sarah’s parents house where the girls where getting ready before heading off to the St, Paul’s Church in Watford. The mood was relaxed and fun despite the rain that started soon before Sarah arrived. The rain came on and off throughout the day but did not cause major disruption. The service was lovely and the vicar was happy for me to capture the ceremony which is greatly appreciated! After the ceremony, we went to Brockett Hall, a gorgeous golf course in Hertfordshire and  that looks very special!

Sean and Sarah had allowed for a reasonbale amount of time for every part of the day, from the drinks reception, to the meal and speeches, a gap and then the first dance. Nothng felt rushed and there was time for photos for mingling and games.

We had a couple of oppprotunities to wander aroud for some portraits and I could not resist geting creative with the last shot of the day!

I am incredibly happy witht he images I provided for this wedding and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to witness this lovely day. The day started at Hayley’s parents house where the girls were having their hair and make up done and there was a relaxed and festive mood as I arrived. The bridesmaids were having fun and it included a rendition of Gangnam style for the amusement of all of us present in the room. Hayley and Mike had chosen to get married at the local church where Hayley’s parents attend at weekends. A beautiful church and service, but I was unfortunately only allowed to take a few shots from the back. It is always slightly disappointing when vicars impose those restrictions, considering how silent new cameras are and how discretely I work but I still managed to capture a few frames for the lovely couple to remember some of the service. It was raining as the service finished, however luckily it didn’t last too long and guests were able to enjoy the beautiful grounds at Micklefield Hall, a gorgeous venue and lovely staff!

The day was relaxed with a few traditions such as the throw of the bouquet which I always like capturing and after the meal a few speeches followed,  all of which were very entertaining and heartfelt! I covered the day until shortly after the first dance and then took Hayley and Mike for a final portrait by the lake at Micklefield Hall before leaving them to enjoy the rest of the party.

I really enjoyed capturing this lovely day and I wish Hayley and Mike all the best for the rest of their married life. Below are some of my favourites of the day and I hope that you like them. Latimer Place is in Buckinghamshire, a De Vere venue, incredibly beautiful. The House is completely separate from the rest of Hotel which is great. Michael and Catherine are now based in Mexico and they wanted to bring some of those elements in their wedding day. The tables had Mexican names, there was a shot of tequila for toasts, a there was fantastic Mariachi band that entertained the guests between dinner and first dance. The first dance, was of course a salsa, beautifully performed by the lovely couple!

The day was really relaxed. Both Catherine and Michael come across as calm down to earth people and everyone was having a lovely time. It was a real pleasure to document their day.

Hi Alexis,  just a note to say thank you so much for the preview of our photos. They really are amazing and capture the day so well.Thank you for also capturing the picture of my Dad on my bouquet. A photo that will be held very dear to my family.

South Farm is a gorgeous venue in Hertfordshire, the place chosen by Zoe and Mark to celebrate their wedding day! All of the events took place at the same venue which made it very straightforward form a logistics view point. South Farm is spacious with many different areas and the sun was out which made it look stunning.

I had met Zoe and Mark prior to their wedding and it was lovely to see them again on their wedding day. Zoe was getting ready at the venue with her family and friends. The weather was truly nice, hot yet not boiling and the ceremony took place outdoors. There is a little lake inf front of the ceremony area which makes it a memorable location for the special “I do” moment for both the guests and the couple.

After the ceremony, the newly married couple and their guests enjoyed drinks and canapes and we had the opportunity for a few portraits during that time also. The wedding breakfast was then served in the barn. It was lovely food and the work of the staff at South Farm was impeccable, everything was on time and very professionally done. The couple had decided to have their speeches before the meal which is sometimes a good idea, it has the advantage to let the speakers enjoy the meal a bit more if they are nervous.

We took a few minutes in the evening also  for some night portraits before heading back into the barn for their first dance.

Zoe and Mark are a lovely couple, very attentive to their family and guests and they looked after me very well. I really had a great time working with them, a very friendly and happy couple!

I’ve been looking at the pics on your blog with a HUGE smile on my face!!! – Tom

It is always exciting to hear of plans that couples have put in place for their wedding day. Clare and Tom had a really good idea of how their day was going to look and had carefully planned their locations and decorations. Their wedding day reception was going to take place at Cafe Rouge in St. Albans, an unusual venue to some extent, but a beautiful and light building. I was certainly excited to work in a different environment and with such a lovely couple.

The day started with Clare  getting ready before going to the church for the religious ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony with some beautiful readings from their friends. We then headed into the town centre for a few portraits before entering Cafe Rouge. It really is a beautiful building with some lovely colourful windows. After a few drinks and canapes, guests (and me too! :-)) enjoyed a lovely meal before speeches took place. They were lovely and fun speeches!

After the wedding breakfast, the guests were invited to witness Clare and Tom’s first dance before joining in for some dancing too! Before heading home for the night and leaving the guests to dance, we went for a couple of night shots.

It really was a  joy to get to know Clare and Tom and their guests. A friendly crowd who clearly enjoyed themselves. Below is a short selection of a few favourite images, I hope that you like them.
