Weddings at the Compleat Angler – Marlow – Nisha and Fabien
If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit Marlow, on the border between Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, I would really recommend a visit. It is a lovely quaint English village full of pubs and restaurants, small boutiques, with the Thames running through it. At the end of the village (or beginning – depends where you come from) you find a lovely suspended bridge and beside it, the venue chosen by Nisha and Fabien for their wedding day. Weddings at the Compleat Angler are beautiful, elegant yet relaxed. And this is exactly what happened on this wintery day (but dry!). Their wedding also had an international flavour with many family and friends travelling from France for the big day!
Nisha had her hair done in the village and my day started covering some of the final make up touches before heading down to the ceremony room. It was lovely to see her walking down the aisle while Fabien was enjoying the moment. The ceremony was translated in French for the benefit of Fabien’s family and friends. It all added to the special feel of the day! After the ceremony, we headed briefly outside for some portraits before it got dark. On our return, drinks and canapes awaited followed by the wedding breakfast. French traditions appeared here again with the cousins (and the rest of the room) singing God save the Guil to the tune of… well I am sure that you can figure it out 🙂 This song was performed quite a few times throughout the meal. Speeches followed before the dancing started.
It was a really lovely day, a crisp wintery day in Marlow, in Buckinghamshire. I really enjoyed getting to know Nisha and Fabien a little and meeting their family and friends. Fabien was a very easy going groom and very relaxed on the day and Nisha looked absolutely radiant! I can certainly recommend weddings at the Compleat Angler a very professional venue situated in a gorgeous and quaint little village. Below are some of my favourite images of the day, I hope that you enjoy them!
